Frequently Asked Questions
- How do I enable the keyboard?
- Open the Symbol Atlas app and tap the settings gear icon, then select "Keyboard setup." Follow the 4-step guide to add Symbol Atlas in iOS Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards. Full Access is not required.
- Do I need "Full Access" for the keyboard?
- No. Symbol Atlas works perfectly without Full Access. We intentionally designed the keyboard to function in the standard sandbox for your privacy.
- How do I restore my Pro purchase?
- Open Symbol Atlas, go to Settings, and tap "Restore purchases." Your Pro unlock will be restored for free if you previously purchased it with the same Apple ID.
- Why are some characters showing as boxes or question marks?
- Some rare Unicode characters require special fonts that may not be installed on your device. Symbol Atlas uses custom fonts to display as many characters as possible. In the app, all characters render correctly.
- Can I use Symbol Atlas on iPad?
- Yes! Symbol Atlas is a universal iOS app that works on both iPhone and iPad, including the keyboard extension on both devices.
- How do I add a character to favorites?
- In the Symbol Atlas app, tap and hold any character to open the detail sheet, then tap the heart icon. Favorites sync between the app and keyboard automatically.

Open iOS Settings on your device.

Go to General → Keyboard → Keyboards.

Tap "Add New Keyboard..." and select Symbol Atlas.

Tap the globe icon on your keyboard to switch to Symbol Atlas.
Note:If you see a prompt asking for "Full Access," you can safely decline it. Symbol Atlas works perfectly without it.
